The European Deafblind Network is reactivating its efforts to campaign for the rights of deafblind persons. We are currently developing relationships with numerous European Parliament members and working on new projects that incorporate deafblindness within the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030. As a result, EDbN recently met with Melanie Köeller, President of the European Parliament and a member of Roberta Metsola’s government. We are grateful to Ms. Köeller for her interest in our work and the needs of deafblind persons and their families, as well as the valuable assistance she is providing.

All of this work is especially important because deafblindness is a complex disability that leaves people with highly distinct and diverse requirements in many areas of life. as most
