Touch of Closeness – Maintaining Social Connectedness
From the 5th until the 8th of September 2017 the 9th Deafblind International European conference on Deafblindness was held in Aalborg, Denmark. More than five hundred people related with deafblindness actively participated in talks, workshops and networking meetings during the 4 days of the conference.
The Alliance for the World Universal Accessibility Day has been created
The FC Barcelona, FCB Foundation, La Caixa” Social Welfare Projects, Mapp4all Universal Accessibility and the city council of Barcelona came together to make a request to the United Nations on the establishment of a global sensitizing day about the universal accessibility. This coalition presented last week the agreement on setting up an alliance at the Auditorium 1899 in The Camp Nou.
INFO DAY European Training Certification in Culture, Media, and ICT Accessibility
The ERASMUS+ project, ACT and ADLAB PRO organized a Info Day in Brussels on April 28th.
The aim of this event was to inform their responsibles in regards to the implementation of accessibility in the Media Directive AVMSD and the European Accessibility Law.
Workshop on Accessibility of Products and Services at European Commission
The objective of this workshop was to present the concrete aspects of accessibility and the business case for providing accessible products and services.
The workshop reflected the state of the art of accessibility legislation, policies and products and services in the areas covered by the current proposal for a European Accessibility Act.
Finnish Professionals visit Catalonia to observe High-Quality Services
Representatives of Finnish disability agencies visited Catalonia with the objective of getting to know the work method of different centres known for their high quality and excellence. The visitors represented the Municipal Federation of Vaalijala and the Foundation for Intellectually Disabled People in the region of Savo (SAVAS).
EDbN present at the International Conference of Deafblindness in Moscow
Challenges of the deaf-blind: experience, objectives, perspectives”, the International Conference held a meeting of the most, distinctive, important representatives of the deafblind. The aim of the conference was to bring together the best practices of work with the deafblind, to identify the ways for future studies and develop specific policy recommendations.
