One million deaf sign language users in Europe were the target audience of this pilot project started by dám Kósa and Werner Kuhn.

This project’s objective is to create a service concept and, later, a technology platform and service that any deaf or hard-of-hearing citizen within the European Union can use to help them with real-time live sign language interpretation by a certified sign language interpreter or/and a real-time captioning service to enable independent communication with the institutions of the European Union, such as the European Parliament or the European Commission.

Through numerous meetings with Werner Kuhn and dám Kósa, as well as other partners who are also interested in this project, EUD has been actively involved in the process of establishing this initiative. We also provide two more letters of support for the two MEPs from the Italian Deaf Association and the Spanish Deaf Association.

It is crucial that everyone can participate in the 2014 elections for the European Parliament.
