The conference/Deafblind Awareness Day, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much,” will be held on June 5, 2018, at the European Parliament in Brussels from 12.30 am to 14.30 pm.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Helen Keller’s passing, 2018 is recognized as the International Year of Deafblindness. The European Deafblind Union and European Deafblind Network (EDbN) are organizing a conference on deafblindness to this end in collaboration with the representatives of the European Parliament, Mrs. Helga Stevens (ECR), Mr. Adam Kosa (EPP), Mr. Ivica TOLI (EPP), and MS Dubravka uica (EPP). This conference will include a gathering of the most significant representatives of European institutions and decision-makers. For our future, it would be an honor and a joy to have you here (as a speaker, if addressing speakers) to share in this important historical moment.
EDbU has been putting a lot of effort into the project, and many individuals with deafblindness are inspired to take part. We at EDbN must also provide our very best assistance. This is the reason I contact you. I humbly request your assistance. Families with children must participate in an act of presence on this day in the Brussels parliament and voice their opinions.
What do we need?
1) Disseminate this information (see the notice at footer) among all the related organizations, families and volunteers asking them to participate despite the difficulties they can experience.
2) If possible, give some financial support to families who want to participate but really cannot afford it.
For registration: delegates or individuals have to fill in the Registration Form attached and send it to Mr. Tamás Gangl to the email address: gangltamas@gmail.com
The registration form must be sent no later than 14th May 2018. It’s not possible to accept registration after the deadline.
