Deafblind International Together with organizations from six WHO regions, and EDbN, are presently working on the second stage of the ICF project (qualitative study). This would aid in the discovery of pertinent concepts for future planning and the tracking of the development of deafblindness. EDbN is simultaneously seeking to get IRB approval from every region.
On November 11, 2021, the Ethics Committee of the Institute of Health Carlos III approved the ICF Protocol, stating that the study has scientific value and that the project technique is adequate for achieving its objectives. This positive ethics report ensures that all ethical and regulatory standards, as well as participant selection and data protection, are fully met. Although the Spanish ethics certificate is valuable for the global project, it is strongly advised to obtain as many ethical certificates as possible.
We at EDbN are looking for partnership from organizations that serve the deafblind. The initiative requires organizations with a family-focused approach and connections to people with deafblindness. We also want more countries to represent the WHO regions, so that we may integrate a bigger amount of data for a more accurate research.Kenya (AFRO area), Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Mexico (PAHO region), Nepal, India (SEARO region), Russia, Romania, France (EURO region), Egypt (EMRO region), and Australia (WPRO region) are among the organizations taking part in the ICF CS.
