Commissar Mimica commits to support EU development that is disability-inclusive
Representatives of the European Disability Forum (EDF) and the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) met with Mimica, the European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, in Brussels to talk about European development cooperation and the rights of people with disabilities.
In their analysis of EU external action, IDDC and EDF took into account recent improvements in the rights of individuals with disabilities.
Commissar Mimica stressed the need for immediate action from EU institutions and delegations in order to ensure that all development cooperation conducted by the EU is truly inclusive and accessible.
Commissar Mimica promises to support development in the EU that accommodates individuals with impairments.
